GRAVE DIGGER Guitarist Checks In From THERION Tour
January 22, 2007GRAVE DIGGER guitarist Manni Schmidt has check in from the band's current European tour with THERION:
"After breaking the first ground and having done three shows, warm-up is nearly complete and I'm glad about all the positive reactions! The new songs seem to be a crowd pleaser. Some of the fans were irritated about GRAVE DIGGER being the second band on the stage. We arranged this with THERION due to the fact that they really expend great effort. In Germany we'll be playing the whole set while we'll play a slightly shorter set abroad where THERION will be official headliner. But we feel comfortably in that mid position, the fans aren't too exhausted and can give everything at the gig. Also there's time enough to give autographs at the merchandise stand which is received pretty well."
GRAVE DIGGER's new album, "Liberty or Death", was released on January 12 in Europe. The CD will arrive in North America on January 30 via Locomotive Records.
An e-card for GRAVE DIGGER's new maxi-single, "Yesterday", which was released on October 10, is available at this location.
For the "Yesterday" single, vocalist Chris Boltendahl, guitarist Mani Schmidt, bassist Jens Becker, drummer Stefan Arnold and keyboardist HP Katzenburg took the song from the cult favorite "Heavy Metal Breakdown" album, and have combined it with a new song, "The Reaper's Dance", as well as their cover of "No Quarter", which previously appeared on a LED ZEPPELIN tribute album. An orchestral version of "Yesterday" rounds out the CD portion of this double-disc. Packaged within this ambitious project is a special DVD, taken from the band's performance at Spain's Rock Machina Festival in 2001.
